What is your opinion on adding a big logo on the home page in place of the Google Ads? I think it will add a lot more pop and form a more official look to the home page.

I hear you on the ads. I do hope one day they will help offset the cost of the server space and domain, but I do agree something needs to change there. We are still working on that.

The logo will remain in the upper left hand corner like all wikis, but we will be continuing to improve the home page including moving aircraft related pictures higher up the page and moving/eliminating text (or at least not have as much at the top). I do have an idea for the home page which I hope to roll out very soon. I think both the users and viewers will really like the change. Of course we will only know what people think about it if they post up.

While we are at it, another improvement which we hope to take advantage of soon is the new WikiMedia skin called 'Vector' which Wikipedia is currently Beta testing. Here's a good look at the old skin versus the new skin, if you weren't already aware.

Noticed the new skin on Wikipedia - looks quite good. I suppose some people may become a bit confused with the change, but probably best to do it before, hopefully, getting a lot of users.

I would hope nobody gets too confused, it's not that different. It's possible that a lot of the same people who find our site use Wikipedia and may not be too surprised. Only time will tell I guess.

ad placement around the site will be updated multiple times until we find something that blends in nicely (but not to much of course ).
