Documentary (1994)
Presentation of main part of the Swissair's fleet since the origin of the company, with archive footage. Each presentation dates the period of operations by the airplane for the company.
Fokker F.VIIb/3m

Registration CH-192, c/n 5225. Delivered first to Ad Astra Aero on 01.05.30, converted to Swissair in 1931 when the company was founded by the merge of Ad Astra and Air Basel (Balair). Sold to Ethiopia in 1936.

Registration CH-168, c/n 190. Delivered in US as X12232, to Swissair on 29.03.32 as CH-168 then HB-LAJ.

Registration CH-169, c/n 2202. Delivered in US as X82Y, to Swissair on 16.03.34 as CH-169 then HB-LAM.

Registration CH-170, c/n 53. Delivered to Swissair the 28.03.34 but crashed few month later the 27.07.34 in a forest near Tuttlingen, Germany. Should have became HB-LAP.
Gounded beside the Clark GA-43 listed above, at Flughafen Zürich-Dübendorf (--/LSMD).

Aged 22, Nelly Hedwig Diener was Europe’s first airline hostess.

Registration HB-ITO, c/n 1332.10. Built in USA but delivered by Fokker, parnership of Douglas, as PH-AFK and entered service with Swissair as HB-ITO the 15.02.35. Sold to South African postwar as ZS-DFX and finally in France as F-BJHR, removed from French register in 1964.





When it was correct to smoke a cigarette in the cabin, even in Switzerland ... those were the times!
