The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large strategic/tactical airlifter originally developed by McDonnell Douglas. It has the ability to carry out missions ranging from strategic airlift into warzones to humanitarian medical evacuation and airdrops. It first entered service in July 1993 with the U.S. Air Force, and has since been aquired by many other nations.
