The Hughes H-1 was a racing aircraft built by Hughes Aircraft in 1935. Wearing the registration NR258Y, a flew some speed record flight and was donated to the Smithsonian in 1975 and is on display at the National Air and Space Museum.
A single Hughes H-1 was built and a flying replica (NX258Y) was unveiled in 2002 but crashed months later.
