The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a supersonic, carrier-capable, multirole fighter jet. Its capabilities range from air interdiction and reconnaissance to ground attack and is in primary use with the US Navy and Marine Corps. An enhanced version, the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet has been developed by Boeing, successor to McDonnell Douglas, which further improves the jet's capabilities.
