The Sud Aviation Caravelle is a first-generation jet airliner. It pioneered the tail mounted, twin-engine configuration and was very popular in Europe as well as operating for airlines around the world.
Designed by Sud-Est (in fact SNCASE), it went into production by Sud-Aviation (the company born in 1957 from the merger of Sud-Est (SNCASE) and Sud-Ouest (SNCASO)).
