Goddard Special

Registration NX5074. Archive from Dole Race 1927 – Oakland-Ca/Honolulu. Flown by Norman A. Goddard as pilot and builder, and Kenneth C. Hawkins as co-pilot/navigator. The aircraft crashed just after having taken off. It suffered serious damage to its left wing and undercarriage, though neither occupant seems to have been injured. The Goddard Special was out of the race.

Reg. NX5074 Goddard Special El Encanto.

Registration NX869. Archive from Dole Race 1927 – Oakland-Ca/Honolulu. Flown by Arthur C. Goebel and navigated by William V. Davis Jr. They won the race with this plane named Woolaroc.
