Registration NX5074. Archive from Dole Race 1927 – Oakland-Ca/Honolulu. Flown by Norman A. Goddard as pilot and builder, and Kenneth C. Hawkins as co-pilot/navigator. The aircraft crashed just after having taken off. It suffered serious damage to its left wing and undercarriage, though neither occupant seems to have been injured. The Goddard Special was out of the race.
