Movie/TV Show suggestions

Add your suggestion plus any details you know about aircraft in the production.

  • The 1950s cartoon, "Clutch Cargo" [1] featured an inaccurately drawn Bellanca Airbus. I can't say if it was intentionally drawn that way or not. I tried a few years ago to contact someone who might have known why that plane was chosen for the strip but I was unsuccessful in learning more about its appearance. LeoH
  • The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000). It shows Bell 47G-4, a biplane which looks like Boeing Stearman Model 75 and a MD-80-like aircraft. --Avenger500 12:14, 30 December 2012 (MST)
  • Apollo 13 (1995) - There is the T-38, I believe, that Jim Lovell flies over his house on the way to Cape Canaveral. There are also the recovery helicopters used to pick up the astronauts after they have splashed down.
Hopefully I will be watching this shortly, keep an eye out! Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 06:12, 2 February 2013 (MST)
  • Entourage (HBO Series), at the end of the Episode8 of Season8, you can see a GIV and a Bombardier Challanger, also in Season4 Episode11 you can see a special B727
  • Our Man In Havana (1959 with Alec Guiness). Includes a shot of the Havana airport, and they board a Cubana Britannia. A KLM DC-6 (as I remember) starts up next to them. Tgibson 17:16, 19 September 2011 (MDT)
Thanks for this. If you want to try and add the page yourself, feel free, otherwise hopefully one of users will. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 13:52, 10 October 2011 (MDT)
  • Green Lantern (2011) with the F-35 and the UAV's and the experimental plane that was in a flash back of the main character.
Thanks for your suggestion and screenshots. Feel free to create a page, have a play about with it and we can help you bring it to site standards (if it needs it). We prefer to create pages with complete information so if you have screenshots of all the aircraft that would be best however as this is a very recent movie, partial information shouldn't be a problem. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 15:56, 22 August 2011 (MDT)
  • Please add "The Constant Gardener" (2005). There is a DHC-5 Buffalo used in the film. It is owned in real life by Sky Relief.--Vulcanmeister 02:02, 3 February 2013 (MST)
Page coming soon (screenshots done); thanks for the suggestion ! LVCDC 13 february 2013
The Constant Gardener for your pleasure. LVCDC 14 february 2013
  • Please add James Bond 007 Casino Royale (1967). There is a PanAm landing after the auction. -- Twitter friend: P1L0T, Derek Schwalenberg
Thanks for the suggestion. Will keep an eye out for it. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 15:56, 22 August 2011 (MDT)

  • Please add "Criminal Minds."--L.J. Gibbs 17:39, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

  • Please add a page for "Memphis Belle" (1990). -- ECBBFan
Thanks for the film request ECBBFan! -- Memphis Belle Your turn! -- Tobin Lee 01:55, 17 January 2011 (MST)
  • Please add "Hot Shots" with Folland Gnat Bonne1978 20:21, 19 May 2011 (MDT)
Excellent suggestion Bonne1978, I appreciate you speaking up! I do pretty much have the screenshots ready to go. I will get working on this page. Thanks again! - Tobin Lee 23:56, 19 May 2011 (MDT)
Be Tobin overbooked or did he forget to upload his work, I will study the movie as I found a DVD. Gasp ! There's a lot of different planes (most very quickly seen). I've notice that some of them are from The Flihgt of the Intruder ... LVCDC 22 mars 2013
  • Add "Boeing Boeing" (1964). It's been a while since I've seen the movie. I remember that there are BAC 1.11's, various large propliners, and, of course, the Boeing 707. The DVD is coming out shortly.
  • Please add the TV Show Combat Hospital. In the beginning of Episode 1 is a C-17.
  • Don't forget about the awesome flying in Never Cry Wolf an older Disney production.
  • Things to Come (1936) has a lot of aviation in it. The story is divided into three periods: a contemporary war, an aftermath where civilization has fallen, and a renaissance portraying a rebuilt high-tech society. Most of the aircraft are fictional, but a practical biplane figures prominently in the middle segment, and contemporary aircraft are glimpsed in the first segment. Futuristic scout planes, flying wings, spacecraft, and VTOLs also appear. The film suggests that enlightened aviators can save the world.
  • "The Sum of All Fears" (2002) also has a lot of planes in it. Here is a list of the planes I know for sure to be in it (in no particular order): F-16 Fighting Falcon; E-4B Nightwatch; B-2 Spirit; CH-53 Stallion; A-4 Skyhawk; Tu-22M Backfire. There are probably more aircraft, but those are just the ones I can remember. Bantha121 22:40, 14 December 2012 (MST)
  • As I'm poor in airliner's recognition, who would check the TV serie "Pan Am" (2011 - 14 x 43 mn) ? Some episode have few shots with airliners, others are more suited for aircraft enthusiasts. LVCDC 21 december 2012
I started watching it but got sidetracked. Hopefully I can get round to it this summer. If you've got the screenshots, feel free to create a page and put them up for others to identify. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 06:12, 2 February 2013 (MST)
  • Please add Conflict of Wings a film of 1954 which was about a squadron of RAF Vampires (FB.9 I think) using a bombing range in Norfolk. It also featured a pair of Supermarine Swifts that at the time were just entering RAF service. (KSE)
  • Please add The Pilot which came out in 1980, the filmmakers made extensive use of a DC-8 painted with the ficticious markings of North American Airlines.Graham1973 19:24, 26 January 2013 (MST)
  • Skyjacked in 1972 used a 707 (Reputedly the same plane appears in Magnum Force) painted in ficticious Global Airways markings. The film also has F-100s painted in Soviet markings towards the end of the film.Graham1973 19:24, 26 January 2013 (MST)
  • "La notte brava" (aka : Les garçons), (french ? /) italian movie of 1959. A band of kids tow a two wheel wagon to carry the wing of an unspecified aircraft, adorned with a roundel. I've seen only this shot (1 mn or so) near the middle of the movie. I don't know if there is another aircraft elsewhere. LVCDC 25 february 2013
