Film Info

The Germans only use red Fokker DR1's made famous by Manfred Von Richthofen aka The Red Baron.

The English used Bristol F2B's SE5A's and Sopwith Camel's but these aircraft are only seen on the ground.

Handley Page bomber's are used in a bombing scene in the movie. - User:93MANIAC

There were no SPAD's in this movie. The green two place was a Nieuport 12. The aircraft you ID as a Nieuport 17 is the Bristol F2B mentioned above. The Nieuport 17's built for this movie were from Airdrome Aeroplanes: http://www.airdromeairplanes.com/photogallery/Flyboys/index.html Smutny

Agreed with you about the Bristol F.2B, but not on the Nieuport 12, which doesn't match at all with this and the 17 neither. About the SPAD, I didn't see this film, but I guess it's an archive footage. Sixcyl 15:59, 2 February 2011 (MST)
