Talk:The Simpsons

Welcome to IMPDb!
Upgrades are done and editing is back on!
Dedicated to identifying aircraft throughout Movies, Television, and Video Games!

Dear Friends:

Two short years ago we created this message box on our home page, asking for your help to keep this site up and running. In that time, many of you have generously donated to our PayPal account and we are forever grateful. With your help, we've been able to make the necessary upgrades to our server to keep the site running more smoothly than ever!

The meager ad revenue generated by this site isn't sufficient to cover the annual cost of running the server, and we who manage it have never made money from it.

In an effort to continue serving the needs of aviation enthusiasts around the world, we continue to ask for donations to keep this site up and running. If you're still enjoying this website and would like to help us continue being the BEST site on the Internet for your aviation screenshot needs, please consider donating.

Thank you,
Tobin & Rush

Animated Aircraft

It is important to remember that, as an animated production, The Simpsons does not actually include any aircraft but just depictions of well known types (747, 737, historic aircraft). This fact is noted in the info-byte at the top, but unless there are very distinct characteristics of recognisable aircraft, no identification should be attempted and a broad term, such as CGI Airliner, should be used. Great page though and feel free to add to the discussion if you feel a particular 'aircraft' does represent a real one. Bthebest - IMPDb Administrator 12:19, 20 December 2011 (MST)

The USAF aircraft sharing picture with North American P-51 Mustang, is rather depicting a Vought F4U Corsair than a Grumman F4F Wildcat: typical split wings and tail fin shape matching with F4U.Sixcyl 04:36, 29 January 2012 (MST)

At the right of Enola Gay is a SR-71.
The MDD F-15 has its undercarriage linked to the fuselage, not to the wing root like the Grumman F-14 seen here; sensors under the nose radome are too a Tomcat's characteristic.
So, the title has been update.
The orange plane could be a Waco UPF-7.
In the bottom left corner, probably a Vought F4U Corsair.LVCDC 27 July 2012
