At the beginning of the film, Jack Ryan (who dislikes flying) gets on a night flight to the United States. At the end of the film he flies back to England, finally able to sleep on a plane after being awake for several days. This is likely to be a mock-up film set rather than the interior of a real jet airliner.

One of these also crash lands on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65)'s flight deck.

Grumman F9F-5 Panther

However, the footage of the airplane crash is really that of a 1951 Grumman F9F mishap aboard the USS Midway (CV-41). Commander George Chamberlain Duncan attempted a landing but hit the deck's edge on 23rd June 1951. The pilot suffered only burns.
Action is seen from the command post through a TV screen : first a F-14 ; then we heard "Eject ! Eject!" in background phones and see stupendous faces of officiers; eventually the F9F Panther with its wingtip tank.
Same aircraft (BuNo 125228 Grumman F9F-5 Panther) in other movies at IMPDb: Frequently Seen Aircraft.
