Dear Friends:

As many of you have noticed, The Internet Movie Plan Database (impdb.org) has recently had a hard time keeping up with the growing demands of our users. In 2009 when a couple of us got together to begin putting the website together, space was never an issue. In fact, it has steadily grown with virtually no problems throughout the years.

In about the middle of 2016 we began to run into server space issues. We have since made upgrades (moving to a VPS, buying more space, etc), but the site continues to outgrow the upgrades. The meager ad revenue generated by the site isn't sufficient to cover the annual cost of running the server. We who manage the site have never made money from it, it has only ever earned enough money to cover actual server costs.

In an effort to continue serving the needs of aviation enthusiasts around the world, we are asking for donations to keep this site up and running consistently like it did when it was a smaller, newer site. If you've enjoyed this website and would like to see it continue being the site you go to for your aviation screenshot needs, please consider donating.

Oh yeah, new users and edits are now active (hopefully for good) while we're testing new and improved spam/bot protections :)
Thank you,
IMPDb Staff

Welcome to the IMPDb

Thanks for joining The Internet Movie Plane Database RenoRacer!

It's great to have you! I see you have already been able to help out in a bunch of areas. Thank you! I know the viewing community, including myself and the other users are appreciative of anything you can do to help. Since the site is so young, we are a long ways away from where we want to be.

There is a new users page which can help make the site easier to use. If you are interested in getting more involved, you can also register on the forum to publicly discuss site ideas, and other aviation info and thoughts.

Re: Ident

You are clearly a valuable asset to this project. Thank you for providing us with all your knowledgeable information! It is real easy to add the link in the plane's headline if you just want to click edit you can see the code used for it. Then all that's necessary after that is add it to the bottom like you can see when you hit edit on any page. Nothing further is necessary. The movie will automatically appear in the Movie List.

I am unsure what you mean when you say, "take into consideration". Are you asking if I would like you to be as specific as possible in your plane identification? If so, the more detailed the better I would say. Tobin Lee 03:28, 13 January 2011 (MST)

Hey

Yeah, thanks for all the info your providing. Whatever you can learn about editing, great! Good to see you doing some category pages as well - i suggest you have a look at IMPDb:Create a Category, especially the format section. Using the template there keeps everything the same :). Just fill in as much as you can. Bthebest 06:25, 13 January 2011 (MST)

Email

Wondering if you don't mind providing your email address in the "my preferences" link in the upper right corner. I wanted to drop you a an email here and there if that's cool. One right now that I think you will find valuable. BTW, can't wait to see Black Hawk Down! Long Overdue. Tobin Lee 00:29, 14 January 2011 (MST)

Black Hawk Down

Great job on Black Hawk Down! I knew you could do it. I just made some very minor format updates is all. Hope you don't mind. Thanks for the great addition! Tobin Lee 11:06, 15 January 2011 (MST)
