Air Siam was an airline based in Thailand which operated from 1965 until 1976. The airline was established as Varan Air-Siam on 15 September 1965 by Prince Varanand, who was the major shareholder at the time. Operations started in 1970 using Douglas DC-4s, initially flying the Bangkok−Hong Kong route as a freighter service. Following an agreement with Overseas National Airways for the wet-lease of a Douglas DC-8-63 and operational assistance from Trans World Airlines, scheduled passenger services started in March 1971 serving Bangkok, Honolulu, Tokyo and Los Angeles. All these services were suspended in January 1972; the Bangkok–Hong Kong sector was reactivated in May the same year with a leased BAC One-Eleven and extended to Tokyo seven months later, in December 1972, operated with a Boeing 707.

In April 1974, the carrier placed an order for two Airbus A300s, one A300B2 and one A300B4, taking an option for one more of the longer-range variant. After taking delivery of the first of these aircraft on a lease basis from Airbus in October 1974, Air Siam became the second operator worldwide in deploying the type on scheduled services, after Air France. Also in 1974, the company placed an order for a Douglas DC-10-30, to be used on the Bangkok–Los Angeles route. Rights for the routes the airline intended to deploy the A300s on were never granted, and the A300B2 was returned to the lessor just a year after it was incorporated into the fleet. Before Air Siam started flying long-haul services, Thailand's flag carrier Thai International was the country's single long-haul operator. Already in 1974, the airline had accused both Thai International and the Thai Civil Aeronautics Board for obstructing their expansion plans. Despite various governments had considered the possibility of a merger, this never materialized. The new government that took office in 1976 had a different vision, and was decided for Thailand to have just one long-haul carrier.
Philippine Airlines (PAL), also known historically as Philippine Air Lines, is the flag carrier of the Philippines. Headquartered at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City, the airline was founded in 1941 and is the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name. Out of its hubs at Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila and Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu, Philippine Airlines serves 31 destinations in the Philippines and 36 overseas destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East, Oceania, North America and Europe.

Formerly one of the largest Asian airlines, PAL was severely affected by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. In one of the Philippines' biggest corporate failures, PAL was forced to downsize its international operations by completely cutting flights to Europe and Middle East, cutting virtually all domestic flights except routes operated from Manila, reducing the size of its fleet, and laying off thousands of employees. The airline was placed under receivership in 1998, and gradually restored operations to many destinations. PAL exited receivership in 2007, and following the brief management takeover by the San Miguel group from 2012 to 2014, has been taking steps towards reestablishing itself as one of Asia's premier carriers.
Ural Airlines (Ура́льские авиали́нии) is an airline based in Yekaterinburg, Russia, operates scheduled and chartered domestic and international flights out of Koltsovo International Airport. In 2012, the company transported 3.5 million passengers. During its history the company has won the National Aviation Award "Wings of Russia" 14 times. The airline was founded in 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises, and later became part of Aeroflot, the Soviet state airline, being in charge of Yekaterinburg Airport. Following the split-up of Aeroflot, Ural Airlines became a joint stock company incorporated under the laws of the Russian Federation on 28 December 1993, and the airline business was separated from the airport. Today, the company is owned by Ural Wings (65.77%) and Ural Transport Bank (14.67%) and has 1,390 employees.
Laker Airways was a wholly private, British independent airline founded by Sir Freddie Laker in 1966. It originally was a charter airline flying passengers and cargo worldwide. Its head office was located at London Gatwick Airport in Crawley, England. It became the second long-haul, low-cost, "no frills" airline in 1977, operating low-fare scheduled services between London Gatwick Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy Airport (after pioneering Icelandic low-cost carrier Loftleiðir). The company did not survive the recession of the early 1980s and operated its last flight on 5 February 1982, the day it went bankrupt.
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd, trading as El Al (Hebrew: אל על‎, "To The Skies" or "Skywards", Arabic: إل عال‎), is the flag carrier of Israel. Since its inaugural flight from Geneva to Tel Aviv in September 1948, the airline has grown to serve some 45 destinations, operating scheduled domestic and international services and cargo flights to Europe, North America, Africa and the Near and Far East from its main base in Ben Gurion International Airport. The predecessor airline, Palestine Airways, had ceased to operate when its aircraft were impressed by the Royal Air Force for service in World War II.

El Al in principle offers only kosher in-flight meals and does not fly passengers on the Jewish Sabbath or religious holidays. It is considered one of the world's most secure airlines, thanks to its stringent security procedures, both on the ground and on board its aircraft. Although it has been the target of many attempted hijackings and terror attacks, only one El Al flight (Flight 426) has ever been hijacked. As Israel's national airline, El Al has played an important role in humanitarian rescue efforts, airlifting Jews from other countries to Israel, setting the world record for the most passengers on a commercial aircraft (single plane record of 1,122 passengers) by Operation Solomon when 14,500 Jewish refugees were transported from Ethiopia in 1991. In 2012, El Al operated an all-Boeing fleet of 38 aircraft, flying over 4 million passengers, and employed a staff of 6,056 globally. The company's revenues for 2011 grew to $2.4 billion, totalling losses of $49.4 million compared to a profit of $57 million in 2010.
Kingfisher Airlines Limited was an airline group based in India. Its head office was in Andheri (East), Mumbai and registered office in UB City, Bengaluru. Kingfisher Airlines, through its parent company United Breweries Group, had a 50% stake in low-cost carrier Kingfisher Red. Until December 2011, Kingfisher Airlines had the second largest share in India's domestic air travel market. However, the airline had been facing financial issues for many years, and due to a severe financial crisis faced by the airline at the beginning of 2012, this share dropped to the lowest in the market in April 2012. The airline had shut down its operations and locked out its employees for several days when on 20 October 2012 the DGCA suspended its flight certificate. The suspension resulted from the airline's failure to give an effective response to the show-cause notice issued by the DGCA. On 25 October 2012, its employees agreed to return to work. However, in February 2013 the Indian government announced the withdrawal of both domestic and international flight entitlements allocated to the airline. The CEO quit on 17 February 2014.
Brit Air (formerly Brittany Air International) was a regional airline based at Morlaix Airport operating scheduled services as an Air France franchise from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, Paris-Orly Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The airline was established in 1973 and started operations in 1975. It was founded to provide services for business executives from western France, and introduced regular flights to London Gatwick in 1979. In 1995, Brit Air signed a franchising agreement with Air France Europe. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France in October 2000. It employs 1,260 staff. On March 2013, the airline merged with Airlinair and Régional in HOP!, the new Air France's regional-low cost carrier.
The Caproni Ca.310 was an Italian monoplane, twin-engine reconnaissance aircraft used in World War II. Powered by two radials Piaggo Stella, it was sold to Peru, Norway, Spain, Yugoslavia, Hungary and of course the Regia Aeronautica. The Ca.311 was a variant with a full glass bulbeb nose. Another variant slighty more modified was the Ca.133 with lots of plexiglass panels, 12-cylinder inverted-V Isotta Fraschini Delta engines. Its role was not only reconnaissance but light bombing too.

Nearly a thousand of the Caproni Ca.310/311/313 were built.

The Schneider Grunau Baby (named for the town where Schneider's factory was located - now Jeżów Sudecki in Poland) was a single-seat sailplane first built in Germany in 1931, with some 6,000 examples constructed in some 20 countries. It was relatively easy to build from plans, it flew well, and the aircraft was strong enough to handle mild aerobatics and the occasional hard landing. When the Baby first appeared, it was accepted wisdom that the pilot should feel as much unimpeded airflow as possible, to better sense rising and falling currents of air and temperature changes.

It was designed by Edmund Schneider with the assistance of Wolf Hirth and Hugo Kromer as a smaller version of Schneider's ESG 31 of the previous year, incorporating an elliptical wing design based on work done by Akaflieg Darmstadt. The first 14 inner ribs were of the Gotinngen 535 shape with the outer ribs gradually changing up to the last 22nd rib having a bi-convex and symmetrical shape with a slight reduction in the angle of incidence. The tips and leading edges of the wings up to the main spar were covered with plywood. The tail unit was built of plywood. The intention was to create an aircraft suitable both for training and for cross-country soaring. Typical for its day, it was a high-wing braced monoplane with a fuselage of hexagonal cross-section and an open cockpit. The Baby was an instant success, and was enthusiastically promoted by gliding champion Wolf Hirth. An extensive redesign was undertaken in 1932 following the fatal crash of an unrelated Schneider design, which resulted in the Baby II. This version and the definitive Baby IIb that followed were adopted as standard sailplane trainers for the German Air Sports Association (later the National Socialist Flyers Corps). During 1941, 30 GB gliders were built by Laminação Nacional de Metais, later Companhia Aeronáutica Paulista in Brazil, under the name "Alcatraz". Following World War II, series production restarted in Germany in 1956. The Baby was also built in France (as the Nord 1300) and the United Kingdom (as the Elliotts Baby EoN and the Slingsby T5 - Slingsby also used it as the basis for a number of their own designs). Edmund Schneider emigrated to Australia, where he developed the Baby design into his Baby 3 and Baby 4, which had enclosed cockpits.
Alaska Airlines is the seventh largest airline in the United States, based in Seattle, Washington. The airline was founded as McGee Airways in 1932, offering flights from Anchorage, Alaska. Today, Alaska has flights to more than one hundred destinations in the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico. The airline is a major carrier and, along with its sister airline Horizon Air, is part of the Alaska Air Group. The airline has been ranked by J. D. Power and Associates as having the highest customer satisfaction of the traditional airlines for seven consecutive years. The airline is classified as a major carrier and operates its largest hub at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. Although most of its revenue and traffic comes from locations outside of Alaska, the airline plays a major role in air transportation in the state. It operates many flights linking small towns to major transportation hubs and carries more passengers between Alaska and the contiguous United States than any other airline.

Alaska Airlines is not part of any of the three major airline alliances. However, it has codeshare agreements with some members of Oneworld, such as American Airlines, British Airways, and LAN Airlines and with some SkyTeam members, including Delta Air Lines, Air France, and Korean Air.
It was established in September 1947 and ceased operations on 9 January 2015. Cyprus Airways had its operating base at Larnaca International Airport. Immediately prior to its closure, the airline regularly flew from Larnaca to 14 destinations in Europe and the Middle East. Cyprus Airways traded as Cyprus Airways (Public) Ltd and had its head offices in Nicosia. Cyprus Airways was 93% state-owned. On 9 January 2015, the European Commission ruled that a 2012–13 €65m state aid package had been in breach of EU rules and the airline was ordered to pay back the full amount. The Cypriot government revoked its operating license later on the same day. Cyprus Airways had been in financial trouble since 2009.
Canadian Airlines served 105 destinations in Canada, more than any other airline. Canadian Airlines was also a founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance. Canadian Airlines was headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, and had revenue of approximately $3 billion at the end of 1999. Jet Airways is a major Indian airline based in Mumbai. It is the second largest airline in India, both in terms of market share and passengers carried, after IndiGo. It operates over 300 flights daily to 74 destinations worldwide. Its main hub is Mumbai, with secondary hubs at Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru. Jet Airways was incorporated as an air taxi operator on 1 April 1992. It started commercial operations on 5 May 1993 with a fleet of four leased Boeing 737 aircraft from Malaysia Airlines. In January 1994 a change in the law enabled Jet Airways to apply for scheduled airline status, which was granted on 4 January 1995. Naresh Goyal – who already owned Jetair (Private) Limited, which provided sales and marketing for foreign airlines in India – set up Jet Airways as a full-service scheduled airline to compete against state-owned Indian Airlines. Indian Airlines had enjoyed a monopoly in the domestic market between 1953, when all major Indian air transport providers were nationalised under the Air Corporations Act (1953), and January 1994, when the Air Corporations Act was repealed, following which Jet Airways received scheduled airline status.
