The parahawks (powered parachutes) were heavily modified for the role. They took existing powered parachute units made by Blue Heron and did a lot of bodywork on it.
Their wings were made with heavy duty fabric for the role as well..

Almost correct.. The other glider is an ASW-20A - I know because I've flown that specific glider... :-) This episode was shot at Shenington gliding club where I was instructing at the time... Ok thanks lol.. But I think they use both for that part. I clearly identify it as an ASW-22 for the winch l...
