OK, so in the the example you've selected, both 'Il capo' and 'Il giovedi' had been overridden using the DEFAULTSORT command, effectively changing the title to 'Il Capo' and 'Il Giovedi'.

As capital letters are prioritised, it listed them as:

Il Capo....
Il Giovedi
Il burlero

I will have a think if I get time about ordering them.

Regarding years, there is a comment on the new users page about this, but if a new user misses it, just put a helpful message on their talk page and then the page can be renamed (moved).
