Spam accounts

In the last 24 hours, there have been at least 30 new spam accounts created on the database. It's clogging up the recent changes section. Can one of the admins remove them, or maybe create some kind of security measure that will prevent it from continuing?

We are aware and addressing the problem. Keep an eye out in the week or so for an announcement.

230 contributors in a week !
But nearly all of them just in creating these accounts with a single message on their discussion page.

I think holding the creation capability will be cool for us, the main contributors. Thanks !

I'm afraid spammers are ready to go a step ahead

A new page with a full text only dedicated to advertising.
By a member enlisted on mid september with nothing else contribution.

In this case the page is an honest mistake as Commando already exists. It has been redirected now which makes this clear. I would suggest posting on the user's talk page for tips and advice - that way they get a notification.

There's a fresh round of spammers on the site right now.

Well ... this time, the guy has a new strategy. He built User PAges then produced one or several New Page(s) like a for movie.

Blocking User Account isn't sufficient. We must too erase those false titles (I'Ve replaced their text by the deletion template when I find one).
To find them, check the contribution of each of these spam-user.
It's over until the next campaign.

Since three days now, This wiki has a problem occured more and more ofter.
First with "Cannot contact the database server: Unknown error (localhost)" but today with "Can't contact the database server: User tobrusco_tleeg already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections (localhost)" too.
