The Princess and the Pilot / とある飛空士への追憶

Here is a 2011 Japanese movie with a subjective title but in fact outside the range of IMPDB.

First the hero is piloting of what seems loosely to be a Messerschmitt 309.


Bad guys are piloting something with the general shape of the Kyushu J7W but wing planform doesn't fit (no break of the cutting edge on the real one and a six blade proppeler instead this contra rotating one).


Later, the pilot drives the Princess in this amphibious plane. Yes it takes off with wheels and is able to water land on two retracting floats.


Really dream (or nightmare ?) flying machines, these flying battle ships :
