My list that I would like to contribute (it's short)

Post by jbbeck218 »

Here is my list of movies with aircraft (fixed-wing and rotary) that I would like to contribute (it's short):

“The Las Vegas Story” – 1952 – RKO Pictures. One of the Producers was Howard Hughes. Starring: Victor Mature, Jane Russell, Vincent Price, and Hoagy Carmichael. It has an exciting car/helicopter chase climax.

“Flying High” - 1931 – Bert Lahr (Cowardly Lion in Wizard of Oz), Charlotte Greenwood, and Pat O’Brien. “Aerocopter” flying machine (autogiro).
Busby Berkeley dance numbers.

“Forever Young” with Mel Gibson and Jamie Lee Curtis – 1992
It had a B-25J Mitchell Bomber known as “Photo Fanny” from the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California in it.

“It Happened One Night” – 1931 – won an Oscar.
Starring: Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Directed by Frank Capra.
It had an autogiro land in it flown by “King Wesley”.

“Crash Landing” – 1958 – Nancy Davis (later Reagan) – Gary Merril – Roger Smith. Black White. The plane in it is a DC-4.

“The High and the Mighty” – 1954 – John Wayne – Robert Stack - Claire Trevor – Jan Sterling. Color. 154-minutes. Book written by Ernest K. Gann

“Trouble in the Sky” – 1960 – Peter Cushing – George Sanders – 1hr. – 30min. BOAC Comet. Book written by David Beaty.

“Death Hunt” – 1981 – based on a true story set in the early 1930’s starring Charles Bronson, Lee Marvin, Angie Dickinson, Carl Weathers, and Ed Lauter – It has a replica of a Bristol F.2b open cockpit biplane fighter.

Thank you,

That's a great selection of movies there! If you can manage to get screenshots of any of the aircraft that would be great, if not we've always got the list here for others to refer to :)

That is great John, thank you! I do have the screenshots for Forever Young. I hadn't looked up the plane yet though so that info is perfect! Great movie there for sure.

Think you are going to try building the pages? We can do them if there is no way you can. We just have our lists too so they might not get done right away. But let us know.

Thanks again!
