What movie is this??

I vaguely remember a movie from roughly 20 years ago and cannot for the life of me figure out what it was.

There were a couple fighter pilots, possibly in F-16s or F-15s, and I believe they went out over some mountains and many white balls or lights started hovering around their cockpits while they were flying. One of them disappeared. The other pilot was left to figure out what happened to his buddy. I believe the buddy was found (sorry if this is a spoiler) on a mountain ledge somewhere at the end of the movie.

I might be a bit young for this one, but I want to say I recognize or remember this movie also. Do you remember if it was a fairly popular movie or had any famous actors in it?

I don't remember either of those. It just seemed like one of those '80's fighter jet movies. Kind of had the feel of Philadelphia Experiment or Iron Eagle.

BTW, sorry about the post pre-approval process. It's pretty annoying. Not sure why we can't just get the first one approved and never need pre-approval again. You should not have the issue again though.
