''' CALEDONIAN/BUA ''' was created in November 1970 as a result of the merger of [[:Category: Caledonian Airways|Caledonian Airways]] and [[:Category: British United Airways|BUA]]. Before adopting the [[:Category: British Caledonian Airways|British Caledonian]] name, in September 1971 the new airline legally constituted two separate entities [[:Category: CALEDONIAN/BUA|Caledonian Division]] an [[:Category: CALEDONIAN/BUA|BUA Division]] for accounting purposes.
After this interim period, all former BUA aircraft were repainted adopting Caledonian's livery featuring a prominent Scottish Lion Rampant on its aircraft's fins.
