The film tells the story of five women protesters who are invited to make a tribute to their husbands burned at the stake for an Amazonian tribe, while trying to evangelize them. The tribute will take place in the middle of the jungle, near where the evangelists gave their lives as martyrs. A French journalist seeks to know what lies behind this heartfelt representation of widows and try to find staying with them in the same inn. The film is a deep refexión about the place of religion in our society, produces two sets of questions: one from the other from atheism and Christianity. But these considerations do not lead to elaborate answers but only offer us ways that we ourselves arrive on these responses. The film has a cast headed by Alida Valli multiestelar, Frenchman Paul Guers, Alexandra Stewards, Glauce Violeta Rocha and Argentina before yesterday. The film is spoken, either in Castilian, French and Portuguese, which can generate some strangeness in the viewer. | ||
