Farmer Ian Bellows goes missing on Petrie's Island off the coast of Ireland and he is found dead, his skeleton removed without any visible wounds. The perplexed local doctor, Reginald Landers, summons the assistance of two English doctors from the mainland, pathologist Brian Stanley and orthopedist David West. Together, the three discover that Bellows was killed by having his bones liquefied and sucked out. Their search for answers leads them to the mansion of reclusive oncologist Dr. Phillips, whose quest to cure cancer may have accidentally created something monstrous that threatens not only Petrie's Island, but the entire world.
