Documentary (2007)

Production:
Bomberguy Aviation History

Short documentary on the Republic XF/XR12 Rainbow, a long-range photo-reconnaissance aircraft developed in the mid 40’s for the USAF. She was the fastest multi-engined piston airplane everbuilt with a top speed of 460 mph and a service ceiling of 40,000ft. A commercial version was planned that would carry 46 passengers, but after USAF cancelled its order, it was not economical to build the airplane in small quantities.
