The antidote to the typical married to his work TV detective, Detective Inspector Henry Crabbe is desperate to quit the force in order to take up his first love of cooking. Poised to retire, Crabbe is about to open his restaurant 'Pie in the Sky' but a blunder in his last case leaves his devious boss Assistant Chief Constable Fisher with ammunition to retain Crabbe's vital services and prevent his retirement. Crabbe must juggle being a restauranteur with investigating whatever case Fisher puts his way.
