Air Provence International was a French airline, based at Aéroport Marseille Provence, starting charter operations in 1985, with small turboprop and jet airplanes. In 1987,and later in the 90's, the company opened regular service with Italy and Brittany using bigger airliners such as Hawker-Siddeley HS.748 and Fairchild FH-227, and two ex-Air Inter Aerospatiale SE-20 Caravelle 12. In 1996 the ccmpany name was changed from Air Provence to Air Provence International then to Air Provence Charter before a later sale to Virgin.
