Note : Most of the aircraft but the Morane-Saulnier MS.230 will fly again in front of the camera for Von Richthofen and Brown.
De Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth
Anachronistic and unlikely DH-82 Tiger Moth in German and British air forces colours.
Fokker D.VII (Replica)
Made for movie replicas built by Rousseau Aviation of Dinard (Ille et Vilaine -35 France).
Pfalz D.III
Authentic aircraft still flying 49 years later its production. The D III was powered with 6 cylinder Daimler engine. Around 500 aircraft built in 1917 and 1918.
Fokker Dr.I
Replica of the famous Red Baron's aircraft (its fate is on the discussion tab).
Same aircraft in other movies at IMPDb: Frequently Seen Aircraft.
There are some other replicas visible with normal camouflage liveries.
Morane-Saulnier MS.230
Presented in the story as an advanced new prototype of german aircraft industry, faster and very maneuverable, it is given to handles of ace Bruno Stachel (G.Peppard). But airplane is not perfectly settled yet, and Bruno Stachel will crash and die in it. Actually, the aircraft is anachronistic for a WWI story, being in fact a 1929 french Morane Saulnier MS.230, a successful training airplane of the 30’s built at around 1100 samples.
Caudron C.277 Luciole
This plane is a Caudron C.277 Luciole. Anachonistic and unlikely 1930 French airplane for the German air force of the WWI.
Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5 (replica)
In fact Slingbsy T.56 based on Currie Wot, an aerobatic british aircraft of the 30’s modified to looking like an R.A.F S.E.5.
Formation of S.E.5 replicas, but background airplanes are De Havilland Tiger Moth.
