The Kamov Ka-8 was a small, single-seat Soviet helicopter. This ultra-light single-seat coaxial helicopter, the first helicopter of N.I. Kamov. It was a simple steel tube structure with an open seat for the pilot, mounted on the undercarriage in the form of two inflatable cylindrical balloons. The engine rotated two coaxial propellers in opposite directions. This scheme allowed to free the device from the difficulties, which were connected with the compensation of the reactive torque with the help of the tail rotor. The helicopter was characterised by small dimensions, high manoeuvrability, and the ability to take off and land on small sites. Only 3 examples were built in 1947.
