On 7 February 1965, sixteen Huey helicopters (five of which were beyond repair, or even recognition), two CV–2 (US Army DHC-4 Caribou) transports and four Cessna O-1F Bird Dog FAC planes were blew up by a commando Vietcong at Pleiku.
