Brown was long considered the winner of the German ace Baron Manfred Von Richthofen. In recent years, however, it has been suggested that the German “ace of aces” was in fact the victim of ground fire. Academy also cautiously depicts Brown flying in formation with another Camel, while many older kits of this Sopwith fighter show Brown in pursuit of Manfred Von Richthofen.
