Cierva C.30 (Avro 671) seen in The 39 Steps (1935).

Juan de la Cierva (a Spanish engineer) moved to the United Kingdom in 1925 where, with the support of Scottish industrialist James G. Weir, he established the Cierva Autogiro Company. The Cierva C.30 was his most successfull design and was built under licence from the Cierva Autogiro Company by A V Roe & Co Ltd (Avro 671), Lioré-et-Olivier (LeO C.30 and derivatives) and Focke-Wulf for a grand total of 148 airframes.
