Breguet HU-3 seen in Le hasard et l'amour.

The Breguet "A" family is the 150 machines (or so) built before 1914 by Société anonyme des ateliers d'aviation Louis Breguet (and sometimes 'Breguet Aviation Limited' as seen in front of their factory).
A stands for "avant" (front); the “B” family refers to propeller-driven aeroplanes.
After the very first airframes (1908-1910), which explored different designs, these aircraft were finally based on a guiding principle: biplane (Breguet said: double monoplane), tractor engine, tricycle landing gear under the engine. However, production covered a wide variety of models, as six engines (in-line or rotary, some of which were available in several power ratings) were combined with different propellers (two- or three-bladed), a two-seater or separate cockpit... each customer customised their aircraft according to their wishes... and their financial means. Although the overall appearance remained the same, identification and, above all, precise naming is difficult today.
In addition, some were delivered as seaplanes...
At the time, Breguet's catalogues referred indiscriminately to ‘model 1910’ and ‘model 1911’, even though the configuration remained unchanged from one year to the next.

This page lists all films that feature those first Breguet powered by a front engine.
