Mikoyan Project 1.44 seen in Wings of Russia.
The Mikoyan Project 1.44 was a technology demonstrator of the fifth-generation fighter capabilities built from studies started under the MiG MFI project (mid eighties). Suffering several financial cutbacks, the first flight was postponed until 29 February 2000, nine years behind schedule. The only prototype was airworthy only a second time on 27 April. Despite no official announcement, the programme had since apparently been cancelled.
