While Europe is gradually split into two blocks at the end of the Second World War, the Americans and the British set up secret armies, networks called "Stay Behind", intended to react in case of Soviet invasion. But even though (just when) a Russian attack becomes improbable, these networks will never be dismantled. They are even at the origin of terrorist acts and responsible for the death of innocent civilians. Every time the left threatened to rise to power, they used (wore out) the strength and intervened in the national democratic processes. Sometimes, they were protected by police forces and security services to protect their capacity of fight.
