Farman F.190 (reg. F-AIXL c/n 7111 s/n 2).

The Farman 190 family relies on a 1928 design for a high-wing, strut-braced monoplane of conventional configuration with a fully enclosed cabin for four passengers and one pilot. It was a successful airframe with several record-breaking and long distance flight. Many variants depending mainly of the radial engine fitted (5 or 7 or 9 cylinders) and eventually a new larger version to keep up with the competition, the F.390 with a cabin for five passengers (itself with four sub-variants all with a four-blade propeller) with only a dozen airframes. Despite the Wall Street crash of 1929, the type proved a commercial success with more 150 airframes built, most of them for the civil market. The Potez 29 biplane which was of the same class had reach the same production mainly with the help of military orders.
