Grumman G-44 Widgeon seen in Fantasy Island.
Three years after the G-21 Goose, Grumman designed the smaller G-44 Widgeon still as a twin engine amphibious aircraft. With a capacity of five passengers, the production was eventually kept for military use as J4F (by the United States Navy and Coast Guard) and OA-14 (by the United States Army Air Corps and United States Army Air Forces). After WW2, production ran for the civil market as G-44A and in France under license. The Royal Navy used fifteent aircraft named Gosling (Widgeon).
Grumman built 276 G-44 Widgeon and 41 were license built by France as SCAN 30.
