Ryan ST-A, reg. NC16039, seen in The Rocketeer.

The Ryan STs were a series of two seat, low-wing monoplane aircraft built by the Ryan Aeronautical Company. They were used as sport aircraft, as well as trainers by flying schools and the military of several countries. They were named ST (for the civil use) or PT-20/21/22 (for the USAAF) or NR-1 (for the hundred ordered by the USN).

1 568 of all variants have been built between 1934 and 1943, the most successful type of the company.

This page lists all films that feature a variation of the Ryan ST and its military derivatives.
