Santos Dumont No 9 seen in The Hindenburg.

Albertos Santos Dumont designed this airship built as the smallest airship considered practical. As first constructed capacity was 220 m3 (7,800 cu ft) later enlarged slightly to 261 m3 (9,200 cu ft). This was a small airship nicknamed La Baladeuse used to demonstrate how easy and usefull could be such vehicule powered by a 2-cylinder Clément-Bayard engine of only 3 HP.
