Dear Friends:

Two short years ago we created this message box on our home page, asking for your help to keep this site up and running. In that time, many of you have generously donated to our PayPal account and we are forever grateful. With your help, we've been able to make the necessary upgrades to our server to keep the site running more smoothly than ever!

The meager ad revenue generated by this site isn't sufficient to cover the annual cost of running the server, and we who manage it have never made money from it.

In an effort to continue serving the needs of aviation enthusiasts around the world, we continue to ask for donations to keep this site up and running. If you're still enjoying this website and would like to help us continue being the BEST site on the Internet for your aviation screenshot needs, please consider donating.

Thank you,
Tobin & Rush

Key Points - June 28, 2017

As of today, we're considering maximum file size in an effort to cut down on the DB size. Storage is becoming a problem due to how large this wiki has become.

  • The server allows for 100MB files, which is much to large. Considerations are currently somewhere between 250KB and 3MB.
  • File types may need to be limited.
  • Number of thumbnails generated by the site may need to be further limited (already down from 5 sizes to 3).

More to come.

  • We are no longer allowing .png file types. All of the largest files (per Special:ListFiles) seem to be .png so for now we're going to limit additional uploads to .jpg, .jpeg, and .gif. If things change in the future I'll note it here. You will need to convert your images to one of the image types listed above prior to uploading.
  • Additionally, if possible I will be converting all .png files in the db to .jpg. I'm not sure if this is possible yet, but if it happens I will also post it here.
  • Maximum file upload size is now 3MB, per Special:Upload. This is subject to change.
