Category:Airbus Helicopters H160
The Airbus Helicopters H160 is a medium utility helicopter developed by Airbus Helicopters. Studies started in 2010 and a first mockup was revealed in 2015. First deleveries (*) were in 2021 for this helicopter intended to replace the AS365 and EC155 (Eurocopter Dauphin/Dolphin and their military counterpart Panther). The composite fuselage hosts electric landing gear and brakes in order to save weight. The shape is unique by using a biplane stabiliser just in front of a canted fenestron. When the two Safran Arrano turboshaft engines are not running, the rotor is showing its Blue Edge design with fives blades incorporating a double-swept shape. The H160B is the civil certified variant with a capacity up to twelve passengers. A H160M base military-orientated model is too leaving the production line, the first of them -named Guépard by the French Armed Forces- are delivered in 2023 to fullfil the HIL programm (Hélicoptère Interarmées Léger - Joint Light Helicopter).
(*) in Europe, Canada and Brazil only. The US market was targeted only by summer 2024.
