Schley Ride to series
This color travelogue style film from the early 1970s titled “Schley Ride to Hawaii” was produced by Norman E. Schley. Schley was a skilled filmmaker from Wisconsin who made a series of amateur films under the moniker "Schley Ride" or “Schley Focus Ride” through his company Picturelogue Inc. Some of his films aired on television, while others were shown in front of live audiences.
The film has four parts plus a fifth made of excerpts or trims from the previous footage.
Part 1: San Francisco, Honolulu, Waikiki Beach.
Part 2: Honolulu and country side in Island of O’ahu.
Part 3: National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and the Pearl Harbor National Memorial, Island of Hawaii (Big Island) with volcanoes sites.
Part 4: Big island, kauai.
Part 5: Honolulu, Waimea, and various national parks and beaches on the different islands, made of of excerpts or trims from the previous footage.

Registration N48730, c/n 75-3927. Delivered new to the USAAF in 1942, registered 42-15738. Transferred to the RCAF, registered FJ877. Bought by Murrayair Ltd, Honolulu, HI in November 1953, registered N48730. Written off in August 1984

Registration N908H, c/n 47517/583. First flight in March 1970 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation. Delivered new to Hawaiian Airlines in April 1970 (Brand new at the time of the film), named 52. Sold to Southern Airways in April 1976, named 937. Changed for Republic Airlines after merge in July 1979. Transferred to Northwest Airlines after merge in October 1986. Wfu at Pinal Airpark, Marana (KMZJ/MZJ) USA in December 2003. Cancelled in November 2008.
