A german Colonel, war hero of old military Prussian lineage, leads an attempt to assassinate Hitler and overthrow the Third Reich regime by using a contingency plan (named Valkyrie, after a nordic war goddess), devised by Hitler himself to maintain control of the country in case of leadership decapitation. Based on a true story.
