Douglas C-47A-90-DL Skytrain

Registration N63440, c/n 20194. Delivered new to USAAF in May 1944, registered 43-15728. Sold to Southwest Airways in 1946, registered NC63440, later N63440. Southwest Airways changed to Pacific Air Lines in March 1958. Sold to Paradise Airline in 1963. Sold to Amerine Turkey Breeding Farms in 1964, square vents were put in the fuselage of the aircraft to keep the cargo of turkeys cool during flight transit. Damaged in an accident in March 1967 at Oakdale Airport, Oakdale, CA. Repaired in October 1968 and sold to Amherst Airways Inc. in January 1969. Bought by Englert Investments in March 1971. Leased to Carib-West Airways from 1972 to 1976. Withdrawb from use in October 1968. Sold to Alaska Crew Incorporated in April 1986. Based at Arlington Municipal Airport (East Side), Arlington, WA. Painted in USA Air Force markings and parked in non-flying condition since.
