Four former military and now veteran pilots make a living selling toilets, watermelons, meat and flowers at the local market. But here comes their "moment of glory" once again. The command of the military unit offered them a job: to perform commercial flights on the An-12 aircraft and also to carry out a "special" assignment.
Antonov An-12B
Antonov An-12B c/n 3341004 built in 1963, first used by Soviet (then Russian) VVS until 1992.
This year, transferred to Ukrainian Air Force (serial 44 red) but operated by IMPEX GROUP.
On May 1997, sold to Inter Trans Air and recorded on Bulgarian registry as LZ-ITA. Latest record (2002) gives her in storage in Gorna Oryahovitsa Airport (IATA: GOZ, ICAO: LBGO).
Just after the foursome crew, this Cub (NATO reporting name for the Antonov An-12) is a major character of this movie and is seen from all angles.
Tupolev Tu-22M
In heavy maintenance, the two engines removed :
Tupolev Tu-16K-10
Tupolev Tu-16K-10 c/n 8204014 (built in February 1958) seen in Poltava (UKHL) (now the Ukrainian Air Force Museum), Ukraine.
Still on display now (2019) the three wheels touching the ground with a more 'operational' shape (wing masts carrying a Raduga KSR-2 missile (NATO : AS-5 Kelt)).
Note the nose inverted-T antenna array of the Ritsa radar homing system found too on K-11 and K-26 subvariant.
