Twenty years later, France is coming back in Cameroon. This country is no more the one she knew in her youth. A youth spent in 1957 in the North Cameroon where she befriended Protée, a Cameroonian who is the family's household servant.
Dornier Do 28 D Skyservant
Reg. TJ-XBQ an aircraft (probably belonging to the Cameroonian Air Force) whose insignia has been replaced to make it look like a French aircraft that has landed in distress... but which still bears its Cameroonian registration. Anachronistic as the action is then set in 1957, because this type of aircraft did not fly before 1966 and this later variant, equipped with a turboprop engine instead of the air-cooled flat six-cylinder engine, only dates from the mid-1970s. Note also the specific radome on the chin.
Most of the eight times we see it, director and editor tried with care to avoid to show its distinctive features that set it apart from the Max Holste MH.1521 Broussard, a model more typical of the second half of the 1950s in the French colonies (but already rare in 1988).

Boeing 747-2H7BM

This 747 (c/n 22378/508) was delivered directly to the airline and operated by till it overran runway 09 at Paris (CDG) on 5 November 2000 causing severe damage to the fuselage. Airframe logged 48500 hours on 12900 cycles and was written off.
