Episode of the Life in Australia series.
This series was made to encourage immigration to Australia and to highlight the various social activities, employment and educational opportunities and lifestyles of the various cities and regional centres throughout Australia. This film shows an idyllic picture of life in the West Australian town of Geraldton.

Fokker F27-200 Friendship

Registration VH-MMS, c/n 10139. First flight as PH-FBG with Fokker in November 1959.It was allocated the registration of VH-TFL but it was not taken up by the orderer TAA-Trans Australia Airlines. Finally delivered to MMA-Mac.Robertson Miller Airlines in December 1959 as VH-MMS named Swan wearing JETSTREAM SERVICE livery. Transfered to ASA Airlines of South Australia in January 1972, then as Ansett-NSW in May 1979. Sold to Transpacific Enterprises Inc. of Peru in December 1991, registered OB-1454 leased to Expresso Aereo and renamed Salcantay. W/O and stored at Santiago de Chile in August 1984.
