American adventurer gets involved in archaeological artifact smuggling and treasure hunting in Mexico.

Douglas DC-3-357A (C-49C-DO)

Registration XA-JAG, c/n 4814. Built in 1941 as a DC-3-357A with registration NC28346 for Delta but not taken up. Instead to the USAAF with serial 41-7715 and redesignated C-49C. Back to the civilian market in 1945, to Pan Am with registration NC45396. To Mexicana as XA-JAG in 1949. Reregistered VP-HAI and leased to Maya Air from September 1963-April 1964. Retired in 1966 and left derelict at Mexico City Airport.

Douglas C-47A-30-DK Skytrain

Registration XA-GUJ, c/n 25354/13909. Built in 1943 for the USAAF with serial 43-48093. To Pan Am in 1945 as NC75737. To Mexicana in 1948 as XA-GUJ. On 24 September 1952, damaged by bomb mid-flight while operating Mexicana Flight 575. No fatalities, aircraft landed safely. To Aerotransportes Litoral Argentina in 1959 as LV-GHZ. Scrapped around 1972.
