Canadair CF-116 Freedom Fighter & Canadair CT-114 Tutor
(left to right) Canadair CF-116D and CF-116A Freedom Fighters ; two Canadair CT-114 Tutors.
099 is the nose code of Canadair CT-114 Tutor c/n 1099 (s/n 114099) of 2CFFTS (2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School / 2e École de pilotage des Forces canadiennes). During the 1990s, this aircraft was flying under the colors of the Snowbirds, the Canadian aerobatic demonstration team.
Note the two white Northrop T-38 Talon and the camouflaged, nearly invisible sharp nose of the last row (Canadair CF-116A).
Lockheed CC-130 Hercules
A diamond flight is correct for an airshow. With troops on board and asking to land, this is more surprising. Royal Canadian Armed Forces / Aviation royale canadienne received numerous CC-130E during the 1960s and their first five CC-130H in 1974. Which ones are seen here ?
De Havilland Canada CP-121 & Sikorsky HO4S-3 Sea Horse
NAVY written under the tail boom is unusual for a Canadian Sikorsky HO4S-3 Sea Horse.
Canadair CT-133 Silver Star
Canadair CT-133 Silver Star acting as a loyalist T-33 of the (fictitious) country.
The flag is green, yellow and black but the roundel green, yellow, green, yellow. The A letter on the nose seems added only for the filming.
Background Aircraft
Due to the distance and the camera chasing the Jeep, identification is tricky.
First, a De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter.
(left) a De Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter yellow and red (on floats) and (right, nearly out of frame) a high-wing red flash on a white fuselage : maybe a Cessna U-206 as a ventral fin seems visible (floats being hidden by the grass).
De Havilland Canada CC-108 Caribou
Continuity error : from the ground or the control tower, we see the Lockheed CC-130 but inside the cargo and cockpit, the camera filmed a DHC CC-108 Caribou.
