The Taylorcraft L-2 was one of the first Liaison aircraft ordered by United States Army Air Forces. After the failure of the "O" class aircraft, USAAF thought a new way to monitor enemy lines and support ground troops and headquarters, considering lighter aircrafts. First ordered as (Y)O-57, the type was changed to L-2 in March 1942. More than a thousand of them were used throughout the World War 2, lots of them ending on the civilian market once peace is restored.
