Brilliant scientist Alec Holland and his sister Linda are working on a top secret plant growth formula. Ruthless millionaire Anton Arcane and his henchmen attack their lab compound, seeking the formula. Linda is shot by Arcane and Alec doused in his own formula and set on fire, falling into the swamp. His formula revives him, but mutates him into a hideous half man, half plant creature, "Swamp Thing." Assisted by government agent Alice Cable, Swamp Thing seeks vengeance against Arcane.
